IDEF 2007 fair has shown great development with the increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors. It is known that visitors and participants had high satisfaction with the organization of fair, attendance density and increase in number of visitors.
494 (161 local and 333 foreign from 48 countries) companies have participated in IDEF 2007. Germany, US, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Korea, and Israel sent the highest number of companies. This year, 264 delegates from 47 countries and 2 international organizations have attended the fair. In the fair area, there have been meeting offices to provide opportunity for companies and guests to meet top-rank military and civil needs and supply authorities and foreign delegations. A total of 595 meetings have been held among negotiating authorities, foreign delegations and companies throughout the fair.
13 signing ceremonies such as A letter of intend between TAI and Air Weapons Complex- Pakistan, MoU for cooperation on the supply of Armored Combat Vehicles between FNSS and KADDB, MoU for Strategic UAV, Nuclear Biological Chemical Protective Suit, Electronic Warfare Test and Training System Program between DAPA of Republic of Korea and SSM have been held during the fair.
Within light of the above, It is obvious that recently Turkey has taken significant steps both in defence industry and defence related organizations. Due to her geopolitical location and developing technologies, Turkish Defence Industry was monitored and considered as a business partner by reputable global defence companies for marketing activities in and around Turkey.
